Day 1

Welcome To The Land Of Eternal Spring!

On arrival at Guatemala's La Aurora Airport, our representative will transfer you to Lake Atitlán, one of the most beautiful areas in the world, with its crystalline azure waters in the crater bowl below. Atitlán is the ideal place to come in contact with Guatemalan folklore. Twelve Indian villages surround the Lake, and their inhabitants are descendants from the great Quiché, Cackchiquel, and Tzutuhil nations. Driving time from Guatemala City to Lake Atitlán is approximately 3 hours. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at Atitlán Hotel.

Day 2

Lake Atitlán

Today you will start your morning with an early yoga lesson overlooking the beautiful Lake Atitlán, surrounded by volcanos. Afterwards, you will depart on a boat transfer from the hotel to Panajachel. Kayaking on Lake Atitlán is a relaxing and incredible experience! The calm and crystal waters of the lake in the morning offer incredible view of the surrounding mountains. The kayaking trip starts in Panajachel to the hot springs of Santa Catarina which takes around one hour. Once you arrive near the thermal waters, take time to relax or swim before we make our way back to Panajachel in the early afternoon. Spend the afternoon at leisure before we have dinner at Atitlán Hotel.

Day 3

Lake Atitlán- Santiago Atitlán

This morning you will board the boat to cross Lake Atitlán to the picturesque Indian village of Santiago Atitlán, one of the twelve lake-shore villages surrounding the Lake. Half the group will horseback ride to Mirador Rey Tepepul and half the group will do a hike. Once you reach the top, you will change positions so all can enjoy both adventures. The ride to Mirador Rey Tepepul is about 2.5 hours round trip. Once this activity is over, you will be able to enjoy this bustling Indian community of Santiago Atitlán where weavers work colorful textiles. Overnight accommodations will be at Hotel Atitlán.

Day 4

Lake Atitlán – San Juan La Lagun

Today you will enjoy a yoga class at the hotel’s gardens. Afterwards, you will take a boat to cross Lake Atitlán to visit San Juan La Laguna. This village is of Cackchiquel origin and its inhabitants are mainly fisherman and farmers, as well as textile manufacturers. San Juan boasts lovely views of the expansive blue lake and lush vegetation in its vibrant gardens. San Juan is home to several local cooperatives, from beekeepers to coffee growers to backstrap loom weavers. Afterwards, you will return to Atitlán Hotel to ensure the rest of the evening at leisure.

Day 5

Antigua - Lake Atitlán

In the morning you will be transferred to the site Iximché, which dates from the 15th Century and was the capital of the Cackchiqueles, the first Spanish capital. In the afternoon you will transfer to Antigua. Overnight accommodations will be at Porta Hotel Antigua.

Day 6

Antigua

Breakfast will be included at Porta Hotel Antigua. Start with a yoga class in the hotel’s gardens where you will be able to relax. Then, you will visit the most important and enchanting city of colonial Guatemala. Founded by the Spaniards in 1543, Antigua is a beautiful blend of ruins, restored colonial buildings, and new buildings in colonial style. You will visit the Central Plaza, which is surrounded by the antique Cathedral, the Municipal Government Building, and the Palace of the Captains General, colonial churches and monasteries, and a jade factory where this stone is worked into beautiful jewelry. In the afternoon, you will return to your hotel. Overnight accommodations will be at Porta Hotel Antigua.

Day 7

Antigua - Pacaya Volcano - Antigua

In the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel for your transfer to Pacaya Volcano, which is one of the Guatemala’s 33 volcanoes, located between the departments of Escuintla and Guatemala. It remains active permanently, offering a spectacular show for those who watch it nearby or from a distance (mostly at night). Due to its constant activity, the volcano has experienced several changes in its formation, creating several peaks and fumaroles other than the main opening, among which the Mackenney Peak stands out. Here you will be able to have a different and exciting yoga class. In the afternoon, you will be transferred back to Antigua. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at Porta Hotel Antigua.

Antigua - Departure

Enjoy your last morning with breakfast and an optional wellness activity. Today you will depart from Antigua to La Aurora Airport for your flight home. Flights must depart after 12:00 PM in order to provide the transfer.

Day 1
